influenza

Last Friday Andreas caught the flu, and I tried to help him and take care of him over the weekend, and so Sunday evening I started feeling a sore throat. And it has just been awful every since. A terrible sore throat that is scratchy, makes it hard to swallow, impossible to breathe.
This morning Andreas left, and if I wasn't with my parents I would be depressed, because I feel like a little child that needs a nursing caretaker. I am so happy that my parents (although they aren't feeling on top either, dad has the fever) are taking care of me. I feel like a little child again every now and then, and it is sooo lovely.

But it is kinda sad. I had so many plans for this week. And now the time is gone, and I've done nothing... My planswereto: bake, buy Christmas gifts, meet my friends, practicefor the concert tomorrow (that I wont be able to participate in now, because I've lost my voice) EAT - Christmas candy and CHristmas food, but I can't have any sugar because then I'll never get better...grrr it is so boring being sick for so long.

Although I'm happy and really thankful to my parents for being here and for them taking care of me, I'm a little bit sad that Andreas has left now. I always miss him when he isn't with me.

But I'll see him for New Years. We'll be celebrating New Years in Linköping.
Anyone else who's sick?

newbold commercial

Last semester I was asked to take part in making a video about Newbold. I was interviewed in front of a camera. I found a clip on youtube with it today, didn't know it was out there. If you want to have a look...

my decorating style

Did a test on mydeco's website and got the following results:

HOME-COMING QUEEN

Nothing - budgets included - stops you from putting your all into creating a dream home. Your look is quintessentially feminine: cool, pretty colours; layered patterns and textures; and flawless attention to every detail.
Living Room

You love connecting with nature and the world outside. The rustic living room is cousin to the country cottage, but it's altogether earthier and more rugged, almost troglodyte. There's something elemental about this look, which embodies the romantic spirit of a pilgrim and celebrates the independence of the hermit. That said, it can be warm and welcoming -- a respite or sanctuary from the world outside. It's about the homespun and the homely, about authenticity and log-cabin cosiness. Look to vernacular arts and crafts to accessorise the room, from Harris Tweed throws to old metal or enamel signs. Neutral wall colours provide a calm, easy background, while linen textiles and soft furnishings never go out of style. There are few things more luxurious than a sneaky afternoon nap, dozing off in your favourite spot in the living room.
Bedroom

Your bedroom benefits from a lovely feminine touch. Sleep is fundamentally important to our well being. In busy towns and cities, noise can often hamper a good night's sleep. Soft furnishings really do absorb sound, and touch is such an important sense in the bedroom, from crisp, linen sheets to wool or even sheepskin underfoot. You like to surround yourself with pretty frills and flounces in your bedroom, using the timeless approach of layering white on white to serene effect.
Dining Room

You're a home-lover, bringing a light, feminine touch to mealtimes. At home, your dining room may be quite formal at the same time as being light and airy, with pretty finishing touches. You're a home-maker par excellence, and mealtimes are the perfect occasion for bringing everyone together. If you like patterns ,especially floral ones, be careful about overdoing it: there's a thin line between feminine charms and the gilded lily. When it comes to entertaining, you like quite simple (some might say 'peasant') food with big, robust flavours.
Home Office

Bucolic beauty reigns over your home office. These days, almost all of us have a home office: a desk and a chair in one corner of the living room with adjustable task lighting and adequate filing is all it takes (and might be all the space you can afford). You can give your office space a 'country cottage' look by choosing a button-backed winged armchair and a sturdy antique desk with deep drawers for filing (or even storing your laptop).
Conclusion

Your home is pretty as a chocolate box and almost good enough to eat!

If you want to take the test it is here.

the day after

I had such a lovely day yesterday. First I was worship leading in the contemporary service. Two people were getting baptized, and we sang Christmas songs, and there was just such an uplifting and lovely atmosphere. I felt so blessed.

After the service we were invited to a get together at Henrik's house for all the Danes (+ and their partners) where we had proper delicious Danish Christmas food. Soo yummy, and had such a stomach ache after eating; turkey, potatoes, gravy, ris alamond (I got the almond, won a beautiful candle).

After that we went to Andreas apartment, where he had a surprise for me; before we went to Henrik's place, he had given me a memory card for the camera, as a present. I thought that was maybe a bit off an odd thing to give someone on their 4th anniversary but then again I was so happy that he had just taken time to get something, and at least it was something useful :)
But when we came back after all the Christmas food, and I was exhausted and pulled away the covers of the bed there was another gift there for me; a digital frame.

It's so smart. You just put in your memory card, USB or plug it into the computer and then you can have a slide show or you can chose to have the same picture all the time. There was even a remote control with it. I loved it. Usually, I'm the only one who buys the gifts on our anniversary, so this year I asked him if he thought we should do that, his response was that it wasn't really necessary was it...
Well, he got me fooled, and I love surprises. He is so lovely!

4 years

so today it's December 6, and it has been 4 years since that night, after I returned form Spain, and I got my first kiss from the boy that made my heart beat faster, and still does.

In 8 months we will be married.

Life is exciting.

I love you Andreas.

The period before we got together was very emotional and confusing, and the soundtrack during that period was Sting

our corridor - deck the halls...

So we were supposed to have a competition between the corridors in th guys and girls dorm here at Newbold, competing on who could decorate it the nicest.
The competition ended Sunday at noon. (But none of the "judges aka deans showed up, quite a dissapointment, when you've tried to involve all the people in your hall.)
Anyway, yesterday I was told that we had won. And I am so proud of my corridor mates. They all helped out with different things, and it was fun being creative together. We made it all from scratch (except for the guirlands and the "crystal balls" hanging form the roof.)We made snowflakes, stars, stockings, snowmen, a santa claus (with the face of one of the deans; Henrik. Now that is Christmas at Newbold for you ;) ) presents, adventcandles and so on. Quite a project.
Here are some pictures of the winning result:
